How to create an alliance chat and invite members

An alliance chat in Doomsday Chat is created together with your registration. No in-game nickname, tag or rank is required — an alliance name is enough.

Once created, you become the leader (LEADER) and a #general channel is set up automatically.

1. Creating the chat during registration

The registration page offers two options: create an alliance, or join with an invite. Pick exactly one — the alliance name field and the invite code field are mutually exclusive.

Enter an alliance name between 3 and 50 characters. The optional description accepts up to 500 characters and is a good place to explain what the alliance does and when it meets.

After a successful registration you are signed in as the leader. There is no separate "create" action to perform.

2. Getting the invite link

Only the alliance leader can retrieve the invite link. It lives in the chat sidebar, under the administration actions.

The link looks like the site address followed by /register and an ?invite= parameter with the code. The copy button next to it puts the link on your clipboard.

Members open the link, fill in the registration form and land in the chat immediately — there is no separate step to join the alliance.

3. What to know about the invite

The link is permanent and is not single-use: the same code works for everyone until an administrator rotates it. That is convenient, but it also means the link is as sensitive as a password.

Do not publish it on public resources, in your in-game alliance description, or in a shared channel. Anyone who sees it can register into your alliance.

If the link leaks, the only place to rotate it is the admin panel. The chat itself has no such option.

Someone who registers through the link gets the R3 role and cannot create channels, mute or remove members, or schedule broadcasts on their own.

4. Channels

The #general channel is created together with the alliance. Only the leader and R4 can create, rename or delete channels.

A channel name is 2 to 32 characters, lowercase Latin letters, digits and hyphens only. Uppercase and spaces are rejected, and names must be unique within the alliance.

Split channels by purpose — rallies, battles, resource logistics, reports. That is cheaper than rewriting one catch-all channel.

5. If a member leaves or is removed

Any member can leave the alliance on their own. The leader is the single exception: leadership must be transferred first, otherwise the alliance is left with nobody able to manage it.

A removed member can register again through the same link and rejoin with the R3 role. The chat offers no way to block someone from coming back.
